Max and Leyla Move to New Hampshire

Dick and Marjie agreed to take over ownership of Gay and Herb Hammerman's cats Max and Leyla in the Spring of 2007, because the Hammermans were moving to a retirement apartment.

The Trip

• Talbot Chubb kept the cats until Dick and Marjie could get them. Dick and Talbot as we were about to leave pulling a U-Haul trailer.
• They didn't like driving, but Leyla enjoyed the motel room mirror.
• Leyla and the mirror.

Settling into the New Home

• The cat tower moved with them. Max peeking out.
• Max on the tower.
• Max decorates a rug.
• While Dick installs a window AC, Max terrifies Marjie by peering at the ground two stories down.
• Walking on the ridge.
• Jumping down.
• Max loves to burrow under this rug.
• Another rug.
• More.
• Looking out the screen door.
• Again.
• A strange noise outside drew them to the window.

Investigating Toys!

Dick can't resist any opportunity to pick up toys "for his grandchildren."
• The little train wasn't too bad.
• The big train terrified them. This picture was hard to get.
• The Batmobile was interesting.
• He jumped a little when it moved.
• Dick bought a 3-D jigsaw puzzle.
• Max jumped in as soon as it was opened.
• The bag of pieces was just right to burrow under.
• Later Leyla found the box.
